Riding School Attire
Britches Polo or form fitted collared blouse, tucked in with belt Boots or paddock boots with half chaps, spurs if appropriate Helmet with hair tied in net Gloves Students in training programs are expected to come to their lessons in neat attire, tack and equipment clean and neat, with groomed horses.
Children under eight years of age must be under constant supervision of a parent or guardian at all times.
Students may not take horses out of their stalls unless supervised by trainer or working student.
No gum chewing while riding.
Please park cars in designated parking areas only.
Please no dogs at Silver Gate Farms.
Please pick up after yourself, your child, and your horse.
Rider must be on time for scheduled lessons. No late arrivals. Riders should enter ring ten minutes before lesson to warm up their horse.
Please adjust tack, pads, and stirrups before lesson begins. · Please do not interrupt trainers during lessons. ALL questions and "visiting" must wait until AFTER lessons, or at mutually convenient time. Please be courteous and respectful of the trainer and student's time.
Lesson schedules are set on a monthly basis. Payment is due at the first lesson of each month. Please notify trainer of any changes to lesson program at the beginning of each month.
Always leave irons up until your horse has left the cross ties and run them back up before entering the cross ties. Horses can kick up, get their feet caught, and break legs. Serious stuff!
Never cross tie your horse to the bridle or bit. Cross tie only to the halter.
All riders must wear a helmet while riding. No exceptions.
No running, balloons, or child's "HORSEPLAY" - it can scare the horses!
