ATTENTION EQUESTRIAN ENTHUSIASTS

IEL IS COMING

The Interscholastic Equestrian League allows equestrians to represent their junior high and high schools in competition. The students compete in hunters, equitation, jumpers, and dressage. The Interscholastic Equestrian League offers four competitions during the school year. The students compete and acquire points individually and for their school. The Interscholastic Equestrian League invites representatives from colleges around the country to attend the competitions, meet the riders, and present opportunities for riding and competing while attending college. Riders can be recruited by colleges for IEL or NCAA competitions. College applications can be flagged by college riding instructors, giving the applicant an edge in the application process. Riders are also given information about riding scholarships that they are eligible to apply for. Interested students should ask their school representatives about membership in IEL, or contact their local competitive show barn. Deadline for membership is October 1, 2010. The first IEL competition of the season is October 23, 2010.
